Olive has a complete hardware, software, processing solution to convert microfilm into richly segmented and reusable XML. Processing microfilm into XML makes it instantly available to a broad audience without requiring them to visit a special facility, check out individual reels, and use a reader that lacks modern search capabilities.

Olive automates the entire process, except for manual quality checking to assure high quality output. We start by scanning the microfilm and saving the images in TIFF format. We then segment your newspaper or magazine into logical components, creating XML for each article or advertisement. Finally, we index the entire collection and make the output searchable.
