OLIVE RELEASES ADVANCED iPAD APP WITH INTEGRATED ADVERTISING
Denver, Colorado – June 4, 2012 – Olive’s iReader iPad native app now makes it possible for newspaper publishers to aggressively increase advertising revenue. Whether integrated with an in-house or ad agency ad server, iReader 2.5 enables configurable, integrated advertising insertions, in iPad-delivered content, that can create significant revenue generating opportunities. Previous iReader releases focused on delivering circulation-boosting enhanced reading experiences.
iReader 2.5 enables automated ad insertions between articles in “article view” mode, between pages in “document view,” and/or as a bottom banner in document view. Contextual advertising is also supported by iReader (when supported by the publisher’s ad server).
iReader provides the publisher with complete configuration control over the location for ad insertion, the trigger event for a new ad to be displayed, and whether the ad is static or floating.
A rich array of user-requested enhancements are also part of iReader 2.5, including: issue re-downloading in the event of updates, flipping articles with left-right swiping, Spanish localization, and an optional “download for offline reading” capability. With iReader 2.5, landing pages may be customized to present “main articles,” most popular articles, and “picture galleries” of images appearing within the current issue as well as providing hot news updates directly from the publisher’s website.
Previously released iReader capabilities included:
- subscription management options,
- user customizable persistence settings,
- automatically updated lists of publications available for downloading,
- page viewing and browsing,
- article reading with flexible dynamic text formatting,
- table of contents,
- rich media integration,
- interface for advertising injection,
- enhanced search,
- bookmarking, and
- article sharing.
The sustained delivery of major enhancements, such as those in iReader 2.5, underscore why Olive has become the eEdition provider of choice for major newspaper chains. Olive’s deep understanding of the newspaper publishing industry and its close collaboration with publishing leaders around the world have inspired it to provide real-world tools to build circulation, increase revenue, and lower costs.
