Olive Software Appoints Mark Sheridan to VP of Business Development
New VP to Lead Partnerships and Alliances for Expansion into Enterprise Market
Santa Clara, California, APRIL 16, 2007 – Demonstrating a commitment to supporting current and future clients with the best strategic alliances and partnerships, Olive Software, a global leader in electronic publishing and digital archiving technologies, has appointed Mark Sheridan to VP of Business Development. Building on its success in enabling leading global publishing companies to optimize digital content for the web, Olive has begun creating solutions for the enterprise market. Sheridan will be responsible for developing business opportunities for the enterprise and existing publishing markets, targeting partnerships with technology companies, system integrators, and forward-thinking web-based organizations.
Sheridan brings more than 10 years experience in successful business development in the Enterprise Search, Content Management and collaboration software markets, and, most recently, was director of strategic accounts at Autonomy, the market leader in enterprise search.
“Olive has much to offer its technology partners – a unique combination of processes and technologies that greatly facilitate information sharing over the Web,” said Mark Sheridan, VP Business Development. “Organizations gain the ability to repurpose their content once Olive analyzes it and converts it to XML, which adds a great deal of value to static enterprise documents. It’s an extremely exciting time to be joining the company.”
In the past year, Olive has signed alliance agreements with document management solution providers including Spectrum Information Systems, to provide enhanced services to customers. Olive also has been recognized by Microsoft’s Emerging Business Team’s Innovation Book as “…breaking the barriers imposed by antiquated search systems, such as microfiche, proprietary platforms, dedicated applications, and hardware devices, by transforming PDFs, hard copy of all sizes and shapes, and files such as those from Microsoft® Offices, into valuable XML-based information components, accessible anytime, anywhere.” (http://www.olivesoftware.com/news/press_060925.asp).
“Mark brings a wealth of experience in our partners’ markets which we expect to make a big impact on Olive in a short time,” said Yuval Rachmilevitz, President and CEO, Olive Software. “We’re pleased to welcome him on board and look forward to some exciting developments.”
Prior to Autonomy, Mark Sheridan served as manager of OEM/VAR business development at EMC Software, where he was account manager of the year in 2004. Sheridan joined EMC in 2003 through the acquisition of Documentum, the leader in Enterprise Content Management. At Documentum, Sheridan helped grow the channel business dramatically and helped to institute new partner programs. Sheridan is a graduate of Harvard University.
