LOCALLY OWNED PIONEER NEWSPAPERS PARTNERS WITH OLIVE TO DELIVER CONTENT TO THE WEB AND REVENUE TO THE BOTTOMLINE
DENVER, Colorado, September 27, 2005 - Northwest publishing company, Pioneer Newspapers, chose Olive Software to power archive, advertising, and circulation endeavors at its nine properties. All titles: Idaho Press-Tribune, Skagit Valley Herald, Idaho State Journal, The Herald and News, Bozeman Daily Chronicle, Herald Journal, Standard Journal, Havre Daily News, and Ellensburg Daily Record will benefit from the upcoming launch.
David Lord, President and CEO, believes that "Olive was the best solution for producing content in the digital format." Sensitive to the existing wishes of its subscribers, Pioneer wanted to serve readers" in the best fashion." All properties look forward to generating additional subscription revenue, providing a "more compelling product for advertisers, and monetizing archive solution more effectively then in the past." Olive's comprehensive technological platform allowed the Pioneer group to solve all three existing needs by selecting one vendor.
"By maintaining the look and feel of the original printed version, newspapers can increase circulation by converting website visitors into online subscribers. All of these papers also have the ability to leverage their existing advertiser base with up-sells to their online edition and beyond", said Kim Dail, Vice President of Marketing Olive Software. "Electronic Editions and a centralized archiving tool will maximize Pioneer's technical and administrative resources, allowing this new customer to experience fast returns made possible with Olive Software's Platform."
Olive's Platform currently includes the following products and services: Electronic Edition, Archive module, AdPortal, Tearsheet module, TimeTraveler and Pipex Digitization.
