Press Release
OLIVE'S ACTIVEPAPER PLATFORM TO PROVIDE DIGITAL MEDIA DELIVERY FOR PULITZER'S ST. LOUIS POST-DISPATCH
DENVER, Colorado, September 2, 2004 - Olive Software,
Inc., innovator of advanced electronic publishing solutions
for newspaper, magazines and enterprise content management,
has announced the selection of its ActivePaper Platform
by the St. Louis Post-Dispatch to provide digital
media delivery.
The ActivePaper Platform, developed to provide "one
workflow, multiple solutions" for publishers, integrates
printed, microfilmed and rich-media content into an
open-source, digitally organized repository. The highly
reusable, non-proprietary, rich content source supports
content unification, knowledge integration, digital
archiving and ePublishing. Subscriptions to electronic
editions produced with the platform meet ABC requirements
for reporting circulation numbers.
The integrated platform is comprised of the ActivePaper
Daily®, ActivePaper Archive®, ActiveTearsheet
and AdLauncher modules. ActivePaper Daily automates
electronic edition production; ActivePaper Archive converts
archived content into a commercially ready content repository,
ActiveTearsheet is a secure, multi-level access, electronic
tearsheet delivery system; AdLauncher digitally converts
display ads, special sections and retail inserts for
placement on the Web.
"The St. Louis Post-Dispatch is very pleased
with our decision to purchase Olive's ActivePaper and
eTearsheet Web based applications. ActivePaper will
allow us to offer our subscribers/non-subscribers an
electronic version of the PD newspaper product and at
the same time provide us with the opportunity to increase
our circulation numbers.
The eTearsheet product will provide our advertisers
with 24-hour access to an electronic version of their
ad and with the elimination of paper tearsheets allow
us to reduce delivery and operational costs. We are
exceptionally pleased with the fact that since the servers
and software reside locally, content and presentation
of same will be controlled wholly by the Post-Dispatch",
said Dan McGuire, Vice President of Information Technology.
"Olive Software is proud to partner with one of
the America's leading newspapers by providing an electronic
publishing platform that consumers can benefit from,"
said Yoni Stern, President and Founder for Olive Software,
Inc.
Sale of the Post-Dispatch electronic editions qualifies
as paid circulation through the Audit Bureau of Circulations,
which will add to newspaper revenues and lower operational
costs, both online and with traditional newspaper printing
and delivery.
